Hypoglycin is a toxic amino acid and a metabolite and it acts as a acyl-CoA dehydrogenase substrate. For this reaction, the product acts as an irreversible inhibitor for acyl CoA dehydrogenase. It inhibits the enzyme by reacting with FAD.
