Introduction:

The infection and damage to the kidneys of the patient has caused the removal of the plasma proteins from the blood. The movement of the ions, metabolites and nutrients takes place from the tubules to the interstitial fluid across the aquaporin channels in the membrane. The net effect of the force developed due to the blood pressure and the osmotic pressure causes the movement of the ions and metabolites inside the interstitial fluid. This causes the development of the swelling in the arms and legs, due to the accumulation of the plasma proteins in the blood after its removal from the kidney cells.
