Introduction:

The food components that enter the alimentary canal get broken down by two types of processes, which are mechanical digestion and chemical digestion. The mechanical digestion occurs by the breakdown of food components into smaller components by mechanical means. The chemical digestion is done by the breaking down of the molecular weight of food.
