Introduction:
Genes encode proteins and proteins decide the function of the cell. Therefore, thousands of genes which are expressed in a particular cell determine the potential of the cell. Some genes can show maternal effects like bicoid and nanos and some genes are independent of maternal effect like gooseberry.
