Histoplasma capsulatum is a pathogenic fungus that causes histoplasmosis. It infects the lungs and causes pulmonary disease. This infection mimics all infectious stages like that of tuberculosis. This respiratory infection causes illness, chest pain, and fever. The spores present in the contaminated air cause infection to spread from one person to another person.
