Leaves are one of the most important organs of a plant. They are known as the “kitchen of a plant”. They are called so because they are the organs of a plant that makes food in the form large chains of glucose units called starch. This food is made with the help of photosynthesis which in turn is possible due to the presence of a green pigment called chlorophyll, present in the leaves.
