The way in which a biologist could determine the origin of thorns, spines, and tendrils using his or her knowledge.

Concept introduction:

There are various parts of a plant like leaves, stems, branches thorns, tendrils and many more. Stems have some modifications like the underground stem-like bulb, runner, tendrils and some others. Similarly leaves also show some modifications like spines, scales. They are modified as per the necessity of plants. Mostly they are modified in order to protect themselves from predators or to reduce water loss or for support or some other functions.
