Amides are the organic compounds which contain RCONRR' group where R and R’ are hydrogen atoms. A primary amide group (1o) is the one in which nitrogen atom is bonded to one carbon atom, a secondary amide group (2o) is the one in which nitrogen atom is bonded to two carbon atoms and a tertiary amide group (3o) is the one in which nitrogen atom is bonded to three carbon atoms as shown above.
