String library:
“String” is a predefined data type in a programing language.
- Strings are objects which are used to represent the sequence of characters.
- “String” is a single dimensional array and it is terminated using null character.
String operations:
The various string operation in the
- strcpy(x, y);
- Copy the string “y” to “x”.
- strcat(x, y);
- Concatenate “y” at the end of “x”.
- strlen(x);
- Returns the length of “x”.
- strcmp(x, y);
- Returns 0 when “x” and “y” are same, returns less than 0 when “x<y”, returns greater than 0 when “x>y”.
- strchr(x, ch);
- Returns pointer to first event of character “ch” in string “x”.
- strstr(x, y);
- Returns pointer to first event of string “y” in string “x”.
