Explanation of Solution
In motion diagram the moving object are represented by points.
Red points represent position of runner 1 and blue points represents position of runner 2 for every equal interval of time.
Here runner 1 reaches the finish line first, so it clearly shows that runner 1 is running faster than runner 2.
So,runner is always ahead of runner 2 as shown in figure above.
