Introduction: Plants are vital to our survival. The oxygen we breathe, the food we eat, and many of the things that make our lives comfortable, such as clothing, furniture, and our homes, come from or are parts of plants.

Explanation of Solution

Vascular tissue is a complex conducting tissue which consists of more than one form of cell found in vascular plants. The primary components of vascular tissue are the xylem and phloem. These two tissues transport fluid and nutrients internally. There are also two meristems associated with vascular tissue: the vascular cambium and the cork cambium. All the vascular tissues combined within a single plant make up the plant's vascular tissue network.

Conclusion

The cells are usually long and thin in vascular tissue. Considering that the xylem and phloem act in the plant in the conduction of water, minerals, and nutrients, it is not surprising that their shape would be identical to pipes.
