Summary Introduction

To write:

About conifers that grow in colder environment

Introduction:

Plants are important to our survival. The oxygen we breathe, the food we eat, and many of the things that make our lives comfortable. Plants are multicellular eukaryotes with tissues and organs that have specialized structures and functions. Plants that inhabited land developed adaptations that helped them survive limited water resources as well as other environmental factors.

Explanation of Solution

Conifers range in size from low-growing shrubs that are several centimeters tall to towering trees over 50 m in height. Like all plants conifers exhibit adaptations to their environments. Conifers have cutin which is waxlike coating that covers conifer needlelike or scalelike leaves and reduce water loss. This helps them to grow in snowy climates. Most plants in northern temperate regions called evergreen are conifers. Botanists define an evergreen plant as one with some green leaves throughout the year. This adaptation enables it to undergo photosynthesis whenever conditions are favorable. A plant that loses its leaves at the end of the growing season or when moisture is scarce is called desciduous.

Conclusion

Therefore, it can be concluded that conifers are evergreen in colder environment because of the favorable condition.
