Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Blood vessels are generally thick walled which makes the passage of nutrients, wastes and hormones between the blood and the tissue fluids difficult. These exchange occur through very small blood vessels which are called capillaries. Capillaries are single walled made up of endothelial cells. Their diameter ranges from 5 to 10 micrometers. When these capillaries are grouped into 10 to 100 capillaries, it's called capillary bed.
