Summary Introduction

Introduction: In contrast to the spinal nerve, cranial nerves emerge directly from the brain. The cranial nerves exhibit various crucial functions. This includes directing motor and sense impulses, eye movement, equilibrium control, vision, swallowing, hearing, facial sensation, respiration, and tasting. There are 12 cranial nerves in humans and are numbered based on the order in which they usually originate from the brain.
