Concept introduction: The Geiger−Muller cylinder or G−M tube is the identifying fraction of the Geiger counter instrument which is used for the familiar evidence of ionizing radiation. The instrument was named after Hans Geiger, who arranged the standard in 1908 and Walther Muller, who cooperated with Geiger in functioning up the procedure further in 1928 to communicate a down to useful cylinder that could distinguish different particular radiation types.
