To determine:

The analogous reaction of malic enzyme that found in bundle sheath cells of ${\text{C}}_{\text{4}}$ plants is to be determined.

Introduction:

Malic enzyme catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of malate into pyruvate. This reaction results in the release of carbon dioxide and NADPH. Malic enzyme catalyzes the conversion of succinate into malate in citric acid cycle and conversion of malate to pyruvate in ${\text{C}}_{\text{4}}$ pathway.
