Introduction:
Cardiac output is a term that is defined as the amount of blood that is pumped in a minute by the left ventricle. The cardiac output of an individual can be adjusted due to the changes in the stroke volume or in the heart rate. The stroke volume denoted as SV refers to the amount of blood that is pumped out of a ventricle at the time of every contraction. Venous return is one of the factors that affect the EDV (End-Diastolic Volume). It is the blood amount that comes back to the heart with the help of veins.
