Introduction:

Q fever is a disease found all over the world, caused by the bacterium Coxiella. It is named so because its origin was doubtful or “questionable” for many years. It is found in people who work with animals, like veterinarians and cattlemen. Q fever is of two types- Acute that lasts for about 20 days with mild symptoms, and chronic continues for months to years, leading to fatal condition like endocarditis, and inflammation of internal organs like lungs and liver. It is treated with prolonged doses of antimicrobial drugs.
