Chapter 2, Problem 6R
Program Plan Intro
Inheritance diagram:
- The properties of one class can be used by another class using inheritance.
- A class, which inherits the properties from another class, is called subclass.
- A super class is the one in which the properties can be inherited by subclass.
- The inheritance diagram can be drawn from super class to sub class.
- In inheritance diagram, the super or parent class is appeared previous to the sub class and sub class is appeared next to the parent class.
- If the properties of the class do not contain access specifier, then “public” access specifier is used as the default access specifier.
Representation of inheritance diagram:
- The class in inheritance diagram can be represented using rectangle symbol.
- The rectangle box is splitted into three divisions.
- The first part represents the name of the class, the second part represents the field names and the third part represents the methods.
- The arrow mark represents the hierarchy from parent class to child class.
- The symbols used to represent the access specifiers are as follows.
- Public (“+”)
- Private (“-”)
- Protected (“#”)
