Introduction:
Hormones are chemical substances that are released by the different endocrine glands. The nature of hormones varies according to their structural organization. Some hormones are peptide or protein in nature while some are derived from lipids, and amino acids. The hormones bind to their specific receptors found on the cell membranes.
