Chapter 2, Problem 11TYU
Summary Introduction

Introduction: The size and shape of a molecule are unique to their functions. It can be simple as linear shape or complicated. The interaction of an atom or a molecule with the other group drives the rearrangement of the orbital in its valence shell. The pituitary gland is present in the brain, which regulates the endocrine system. It produces a compound called endorphin. Endorphin binds to a receptor present in the brain and relieves pain. Opiates like morphine have a similar shape to endorphin that binds to the receptor. So, it mimics the endorphin and when binds to receptor, it produces similar effects. Female silkworm moths (Bombyx mori) release chemical signals that attract the male moths that are at distant to them. The male moth has a comb-like sensory receptor that binds to a signal molecule that stimulates to fly toward the female moth.

To propose: A hypothesis that how a male moth detects the specific molecule in the presence of other molecules.
