Explanation of Solution

Create a Visual Basic Windows Application:

• Open “Microsoft Visual Basic 2010”.
• Click “File” menu -> “New Project”.
• In the “New Project” pop-up window, select the “Windows Forms Application” and give the name as “Characters Project”, and specify the location as “\VB2015\Chap01\” and the solution name as “Characters Solution”.

Step 1:

Set the form control properties in the properties window as follows:

Object	Property	Setting
frmMain	Text	Star Wars Characters
Label1	Text	Darth
Label2	Text	Stormtrooper
picDarth	Name	(Empty)
picStormtrooper	Name	(Empty)
tmrExit	Text	(Empty)
btnDisplay	Text	Display

• Add two picture boxes to the form from Toolbox.
• Add two label boxes to the form from Toolbox.
• Add a timer to the form from Toolbox.

Step 2:

• Set the “picDarth” control’s “Image” property as “Characters_Project.My.Resources.Resources.Darth”, so that the picture box will display the picture.
• Set the “Text” property of “Label1” control as “Darth”.
• Set the “Name” property of “Timer1” control as “tmrExit”.
