However, there are circunstances in which using perdón is better than using con permiso. For me, perdón is like asking for forgiveness, while con permiso is like you are asking permission to do something. Much like May I?
Thus we say con permiso when we ask someone to let us pass or when we have to leave a meeting a little early or when we step outside for a while.
We use perdón when we interrupt a conversation, when we accidentally step into someone’s foot or bumped into someone. We also use perdon when we get someone’s attention.
