Iron deficiency anemia is the condition where the individual has a normal number of red blood cells when the hemoglobin content is less than the normal range. It is one of the most common of all other types of anemia. The decrease in the hemoglobin content is due to lack of mineral iron in the body, which is present as the heme group in hemoglobin.
