Introduction:

DNA library is a collection of DNA fragments that is cloned in a vector. There are two kinds of libraries namely genomic DNA and $\text{cDNA}$ libraries. Genomic library is a collection of total genomic DNA from a single organism. The DNA is stored in the vector, and each vector contains different inserted DNA.

Cloning vector allows foreign DNA to come inside the vector and replicate them and make copies for DNA. Cloning vector is various types namely, plasmid cloning vector, and phages. Cloning vector is having three main characteristics: they contain ORI (origin of replication), selectable marker and restriction sites.
