Introduction:

A virus is a non-cellular infectious particle that replicates only inside a living cell. Their genome consists of $\text{RNA}$ or $\text{DNA}$ that may be “single-stranded or double-stranded.” Retroviruses are the $\text{RNA}$ viruses that use the enzyme reverse transcriptase to produce viral $\text{DNA}$ in a host cell.
