The clotting process involved in the coagulation pathway involves the activation of factor XII in the blood clotting process by the intrinsic pathway. The extrinsic pathway involves the secretion of platelet factor-3, clotting factor-III which combines with the calcium ions to form the factor X. The activation of these factors initiates the process of the blood clotting process.
