Interpretation:
Characteristic of diode array spectrophotometer that makes them suitable enough to be used to record spectrum from chromatography column and disadvantage has to be given.
Concept Introduction:
When chromatography column is allowed to run, it is important is to monitor it frequently for the analytes that come out of the column as the elution proceeds.
Photodiode array spectrophotometer is a single beam device that has several diodes in an array capable to record the entire spectrum in a fraction of seconds.
A dispersive spectrophotometer allows light to diverge from its source into constituent wavelengths and measures the absorption of each narrow wavelength band one at a time.
