Location of the cardiac skeleton in the frontally sectioned heart.
Introduction:
The cardiac skeleton is also known as the fibrous skeleton of the heart. This section of the heart shows a ring of fibrous connective tissue that surrounds the heart valves. The heart is divided into four chambers, namely two auricles and two ventricles. The right side of the heart carries deoxygenated blood while the left side carries oxygenated blood.
