Affluent, more developed nations consume a disproportionate amount of Earth’s resources and produce a disproportionate amount of wastes, including carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that are causing global climate change. The consequences of climate change include rising sea level, drought, and extreme weather events. Do you think affluent countries should responsible for helping poorer, less developed countries bear the financial burden of these consequences?
