Summary Introduction

Concept introduction: In the endosymbiont theory, it is believed that the organelles such as mitochondria and chloroplast arose within the eukaryotic cells. Examples of the endosymbiotic relationship include nitrogen- fixing bacteria that lives in root nodules on legume roots, single- cell algae inside the reef-building corals and the bacterial endosymbiont which provide essential nutrients to about 10-15% of the insects.
