DNA repair is a biological process which involves correction of a sequence of damaged DNA due to a mutation which results in alteration of nucleotide sequences.

Introduction:

Double strand break involves breakage of both strands of double helical DNA and their function is also disrupted. Double-strand break in DNA is a common type of DNA damage which is caused by ionizing radiation, oxidative radicals, and other chemical mutagens.
