Summary Introduction
Gonyaulax is a member of group known as dinoflagellates. These organisms survive in aquatic conditions and consist of two types of flagella. One type of flagella extends backward and the other wraps around a cell which is present in the lateral groove. Except for only one single species, Gonyaulax apiculata, all other members are marine in nature.
