Interpretation:
The relationship between the major and minor products of the given reaction as enantiomers or diastereomers is to be identified.
Concept introduction:
The organic compounds that are found to be non-superimposable on their mirror images are called as enantiomers.
On the other hand, the compounds that are not mirror images of each other are called as diastereomers.
The enantiomer of a compound has an opposite configuration.
Diastereomers of a compound have at least one stereogenic center with same configuration and at least one stereogenic center with opposite configuration.
