Introduction:
Governments, historically have had large roles in the transportation systems infrastructure. Most governments own almost the entire roads and highways, railroads, seaports, airports, airlines and so on. In the recent decades, private investment has come in a big way in all these transportation systems and infrastructure. Governments, understandably wanted to control unreasonable profiteering by the private sector initially, since users may not have too many options. With the greater role of the private sector in many of the country U. transportation systems, the country U. government did away with its role in price setting and deregulated in the year 1980.
