The pancreas is an organ located in the abdomen and functions as an exocrine gland and an endocrine gland as well. Though the pancreas is 95% exocrine, it has approximately 1 to 2 million of endocrine cells present in the clustered form, called Pancreatic islets (islets of Langerhans).
