Explanation Endocrine organs are employed in the secretion of endocrine hormones only. This includes the glands such as the pituitary, the thyroid, the adrenal gland, and others. The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain stem. This gland consists of two parts- anterior and posterior. The former is associated with the secretion of trophic hormones that stimulates the secretion of other endocrine hormones. The posterior part secretes two hormones − oxytocin and anti-diuretic hormone. Thyroid hormone is secreted from the cells of the thyroid (endocrine) gland. another hormone secreted from this gland is calcitonin. The adrenal gland located on the upper part of each kidney consists of two regions − the cortex and medulla. The hormones secreted from the adrenal cortex are associated with the maintenance of homeostasis between the metabolites and body fluids.
