Introduction: Cohesin is a protein complex with four subunits. The four subunits are Smc1, Smc3, Scc1, and Scc3. Scc1 is important for the holding two sister chromatids together. Sister chromatids are produced during the S phase of the cell cycle which is joined together by a common centromere.
