The difference between $\alpha -\text{glucose}$ and $\beta -\text{glucose}$ is to be determined.

Concept Introduction:

Glucose is a monosaccharide that contains six carbon atoms and an aldehyde functional group. The glucose molecule can exist in open chain as well as in cyclic form. The natural form of glucose is $\text{D-glucose}$ and the synthetic form of glucose is $\text{L-glucose}$ .
