The nursing student is caring for a 62-year-old adult male patient Mr. M along with the nursing staff. The patient is admitted in the intensive care unit due to hepatic failure and the patient is very ill and being monitored continuously. The patient is being intravenous fluids and medication through numerous central and peripheral IV catheters. The nursing staff asks the student nurse to change the new IV bag of medication.
