Summary Introduction

To determine: The reason due to which heterozygous females who are not usually color blind exhibit partial color blindness or are color blind in just one eye, on rare occasions.

Introduction: The male carries XY chromosomes, whereas the females carry XX chromosome. The phenotypic expression of a trait is different in some males and females. Sex-limited and sex-influenced traits are two reasons due to which this condition occurs. Color blindness is a sex-linked trait and is more likely to occur in males.
