Explanation of Solution

Tree:

  • A data structure that is present in the hierarchical form and is composed of nodes.
  • Each of the node will be having a sequence of child nodes and also one of the node is considered to be a root node.

Red-black Tree:

  • A special kind of binary search tree that gets rebalances by itself after every insertion or removal.
  • Every node is colored red or black.
  • The root node is black
  • A red node cannot have a red child.
  • All the path from the root to a null have the same number of black nodes.

Black root rule:

  • The rule is important for maintaining the integrity applied during insertion and during the removal operations of the red-black tree in terms of fixing the double red and equal exist cost problems.
  • If the tree is allowed with a red root then the rules regarding the colors has to be transformed that is double red problem will be converted into the double black problem and so on.
  • It is said that all the black nodes needs to be converted into red nodes and vice versa.
