Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: A compound $\text{A}\left(s\right)$ is given to decompose to substances $\text{B}\left(l\right)$ and $\text{C}\left(l\right)$ at moderately high temperatures. The effect on the value of $\Delta S_{\text{rxn}}^{°}$ when running the stated decomposition reaction at even higher temperatures (above the melting point of A, but still below the boiling points of B and C) is to be stated.

Concept introduction: Entropy is a thermodynamic property which shows the randomness or disorder of the atoms within the system.

The difference in the entropy of the reactant and products is known as the change in the entropy of a reaction $\Delta S_{\text{rxn}}^{°}$.

To determine: The effect on the value of $\Delta S_{\text{rxn}}^{°}$, when running the stated decomposition reaction at even higher temperatures (above the melting point of A, but still below the boiling points of B and C).
