A patient has been exposed to the organophosphate pesticide malathion. This pesticide inactivates acetylcholinesterase and produces several symptoms. Atropine drugs can be used to reduce the effect of the symptoms.

The autonomic nervous system is a part of the peripheral nervous system, which controls and coordinates the activities of the organs. The nerve cells of the ANS are attached to the smooth muscles of the organ. It is controlled by two important divisions’ sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. Their effects can be general, which includes many organs of the body or local, which a specific region of the body. the effect has resulted in several symptoms.
To determine:
The symptoms produced after the exposure to the organophosphate pesticide Malathion that inactivates acetylcholinesterase. Atropine is an effective drug to treat the symptoms.
Given Information:
The symptom appears after the exposures to organophosphate are muscle twitching or cramp, involuntary urination and blurring of vision. Atropine is a muscarinic and cholinergic receptor that blocks the binding of acetylcholine to the autonomic nervous system.
