Introduction:

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter derived from amino acid tryptophan. It regulates both the physiological and behavioral processes of the body. It mediates communication between neurons in the central nervous system. In addition to this, it also promotes the feeling of well-being and happiness in humans. The deficiency of serotonin in the brain results in depression and anxiety.
