The sympathetic neurons of the spinal cord connect with the peripheral sympathetic neurons through a sequence of sympathetic ganglia. The peripheral sympathetic neuron with the help of synapses connect with the spinal cord sympathetic neurons within the ganglia it is termed as presynaptic neurons and the peripheral sympathetic neuron is termed as postsynaptic neurons.
