Introduction: The bacteriophage is a virus that infects the bacteria. It inserts its viral DNA into the bacterial chromosome. It destroys the host cell (bacterial) and uses its components for the process of reproduction. A bacteriophage is composed of the nucleic acid molecule which is surrounded by a protein coat.
