Chapter 16, Problem 12RAC
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The autonomic nervous system is controlled by the central nervous system, which helps in maintaining homeostasis. They are present in a different location in the body, such as preganglionic neuron cells in CNS and autonomic ganglia in the PNS on which the receptors of acetylcholine and norepinephrine are present. The response of the respective cell is delivered by the combination of neurotransmitters and receptors. The receptor can be cholinergic, which includes nicotine and muscarinic receptor and adrenergic which includes alpha and beta receptors.
