Chapter 15.3, Problem 4AYLO
Summary Introduction
To discuss:
The common α- and β- adrenergic receptors, how they differ and where they occur in the ANS.
Introduction:
The autonomic nervous system and its nerve fibers use to synthesize two different types of neurotransmitter class, namely Acetylcholine and Norepinephrine. Acetylcholine is a cholinergic and the receptor that synthesizes that are bound to the nerve are said to be cholinergic nerve fibers and cholinergic receptors. Norepinephrine is termed as adrenergic and the nerve fiber and its receptor system is termed as adrenergic nerve fibers and adrenergic receptors. The adrenergic receptors, its classifications and its common characters are discussed herein.
