Introduction:

The peripheral nervous system contains cranial nerves, and the spinal nerves are present throughout the body. The cranial nerves are those nerves that arise from the brain, while the spinal nerves emerge from the spinal cord. The twelve pairs of cranial nerves are present in the body that innervate different body parts. Vagus nerve (X) is the longest cranial nerve, and it travels from the neck and thorax to the abdomen region.
